Rules and safety

To sell gold or silver you need a valid DNI, NIE or passport, whatever the amount: the law requires us to identify every seller and record every sale.

Why we ask for your ID

We ask for it every time we buy, even for small amounts, because the law requires it of businesses that buy jewellery and metals. If you are unsure which document to bring, ask us before you come.

Can I sell gold without ID?

No. The law requires us to identify the seller and record every sale. You can come back another day with a valid ID.

Why do you need my ID if I am only selling a small piece?

Because the duty to identify the seller applies to every purchase of jewellery and metals, with no minimum amount.

Transaction register and money laundering

Spain’s public safety law requires businesses that buy and sell jewellery and metals to keep a register of their transactions. We record each purchase, with the details of the transaction and of the seller. This register helps the police, in Catalonia the Mossos d’Esquadra, fight the sale of stolen goods.

As a precious metals dealer, we also comply with Law 10/2010 on preventing money laundering and terrorist financing:

  • We identify the people we deal with and keep the documents for the period the law sets.
  • For some transactions we ask you for more information, for example about where the items or the money come from.
  • We do not go ahead with a transaction when these measures cannot be applied.

When you buy bars, coins or jewellery from us, in the shop or online, we will also ask for your ID where the rules require it. It is not mistrust: it is what the law requires of the whole sector.

Cash payments

Law 7/2012 limits cash payments in transactions involving a business: as a general rule, amounts of €1,000 or more cannot be paid in cash, and a transaction cannot be split into several payments to stay under that limit.

Can I be paid in cash?

Yes, if the amount is under €1,000. From that amount, we pay you by bank transfer. Always with an itemised receipt.

Your data

We process your data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spain’s data protection law (Organic Law 3/2018), only for what each transaction needs and what the law requires of us. Our privacy policyES (in Spanish) explains who processes it, why, for how long and how to exercise your rights.

For your safety: we only call you from +34 657 15 95 01 or the landline +34 93 156 36 44, and we only message you on WhatsApp from +34 657 15 95 01. We will never ask you by phone, WhatsApp or email to pay anything upfront to buy your items, value them or give you a pawn loan. If you get a message in our name from another number, do not reply and let us know.

Complaint forms: official complaint forms (hojas de reclamación) are available in our shop.

Questions before you come? Ask us on WhatsApp or by phone and we will tell you what you need in your case.
